Moving towards a theology of history

if history - both chronological and sociological - is really the medium of God's will, then we are freed from the tyranny of history; the point of origin of Christianity and Judaism no longer is absolute, but, the whole history of these respective religions are considered as equally valid - through thick and thin.

However, we must then give up an intellectual form of religious exceptionalism - or if we don't, to assert either quietly or loudly, that it is only faith.
